Despite the war, the launched by the Russian Federation, Ukrainians must pay for utilities. In particular, it is necessary to pay for gas and transmit monthly the indications of the gas meter. There are times when data entered in the Personal Account or Count does not agree with the actual indicators. This leads to an increase in the amount of gas payment. The State Food and Consumer Service told us when it is necessary to transmit gas meter readings.

Experts explained that in Ukraine the functions of gas supply and distribution are distributed between:.

gas supplier (Supplier) - supplying (selling) natural gas to the consumer;

The operator of the gas distribution network (GRS operator) - providing a service for the distribution (delivery) of the acquired natural gas.

So, chapter 4 of section IX of the Code of gas distribution systems stipulates that the household consumer, under the terms of the contract of distribution of natural gas, is calculated by the gas meter:.

is obliged monthly, as of the 1st day of the month, to take actual gas meter readings and within five days (up to the 5th day inclusive) to provide them to the GDS Operator in the manner specified in the natural gas distribution agreement (in the consumer’s electronic account, through electronic means of communication or by telephone).

if the GDS Operator fails to receive gas meter readings by the 6th day of the month following the billing month and provided that the gas meter is not equipped with means of remote data transmission, the actual volume of distribution and consumption of natural gas at the consumer facility for the billing period is determined by the GDS Operator at the planned monthly level.

The household consumer has the right to apply to the GRS operator no more than once every three months with a statement on the reconciliation of the actually used natural gas volumes and the funds paid for the distribution services of natural gas.
