On the Day of Unification of Ukraine, which Ukraine celebrated on January 22, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine launched a virtual chain of unity on Instagram and the X network, commemorating the historic action of 1990, when thousands of Ukrainians created a human chain from Ivano-Frankivsk to Kyiv.

On Network X, the participants of the action left comments under the message of the official account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, adding emoji of the Ukrainian flag and handshake and noting from which country or city they were joining the online chain. And on Instagram - they join in stories, where an illustration with a handshake forms an endless chain.

Thousands of participants from all continents took part in the flash mob. The initiative was also supported on their official pages by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, the First Lady of Ukraine Elena Zelenskaya, NATO, foreign ministries and official representations of more than 15 partner states, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, NSU, State Emergency Service, foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine, Ukrainian ministries, media, business.

Let us remind you that in 2020, on the morning of January 22 in Kyiv, people connected the two banks of the Dnieper with a human chain. Every year on this day, thousands of Ukrainians come out to the Paton Bridge, lining up in a single chain, they celebrate the anniversary of one of the most significant events in the history of the Ukrainian state - the proclamation of the “Act of Zluka” of the UPR and WUNR.

Wrapping themselves in the flags of Ukraine and holding hands, the columns moved from the left and right banks of the capital to unite in a single chain in the middle of the bridge and unite the blue and yellow flag into a single flag of Ukraine. On the way to the bridge they chanted: “One! United! Cathedral Ukraine! » and » Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
