From the first days of a full-scale war, Natalya and her family were forced to live in a bomb shelter at the Mariupol fire department. There they, along with 300 civilians, hid during the fierce fighting in the city.. Now the family lives in Dnepr, in a modernized hostel building. They received the room as part of the Yamariupol project. Housing" Natalya admits: she was touched to the depths of her soul by this help, because the new house gives his family a feeling of protection and confidence in the future.

The woman remembers the events of 2022 with pain in her heart.. Then her husband worked as a rescuer, and she was hopeful and cared for her little son. Natalia told the “Voices of Peaceful” Museum of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation that the most difficult thing for her was to see how the war affected her child. Due to stress, the boy began to stutter.

The decision to leave Mariupol was difficult, and this is what saved the family’s life. The family evacuated the fire station minutes before the shooting. And even despite the horrors experienced in her hometown, Natalya dreams of returning home.

" I want it all to end and for us to forget this like a bad dream.. I want our children not to grow up listening to sirens.. I want this to never happen in our country again,” says Natalya.
