In the biathlon mass start among women, Darina Chalyk won gold, and Alexandra Merkushina became a silver medalist. Despite three misses at the shooting range, Chalyk finished first. Merkushina, with two inaccurate shots, was 38.9 seconds behind her compatriot. German Louise Muller took bronze. The third Ukrainian Liliya Steblina closed the top 15.
