The official unemployment rate in Ukraine in 2024 dropped to a historical low – 94.2 thousand registered persons. However, structural problems, personnel shortages and migration remain serious challenges for the labor market. The unemployment rate became known from the data of the State Employment Service published by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). For comparison, a year ago this figure was 96.1 thousand, and in 2023 – 186.5 thousand. This significant reduction indicates the resumption of the labor market, but these statistics do not reflect all aspects of the real situation.

This indicates the activation of the market, but at the same time, the shortage of workers remains a limiting factor in the economy.. The National Bank predicts that the unemployment rate in Ukraine will remain high in 2024, reaching 14.2% (approximately 2 million unemployed). This indicator is expected to gradually decrease to 11.6% in 2025 and 10.6% in 2026. However, these figures will continue to exceed pre-war figures.. The main factors influencing the labor market remain:.
