President Vladimir Zelensky stripped MP Yuriy Boyko of the title of Hero of Ukraine. The head of state made the corresponding decision on January 19.
It is noteworthy that Boyko was deprived of all state awards of Ukraine and other forms of awards. This is stated in the annex to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated January 19, 2025 “On the application and abolition of personal special economic and other restrictive measures”, put into effect by Presidential Decree of January 19, 2025 No. 38/2025.
According to the Law of Ukraine “On Sanctions”, restrictive measures were applied to Boyko in the form of deprivation of state awards of Ukraine. The presidential decree states that personal special economic and other restrictive measures were introduced by the Security Service of Ukraine.
“Control over the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, put into effect by this Decree, shall be entrusted to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine,” the presidential decree says.
Let us recall that after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Boyko practically disappeared from the public information space.. And recently it surfaced with a number of characteristic statements. In particular, judging by the video message he recorded, Boyko saw the rampant radicalism in Ukraine and declared that “the people are with us”.
By the way, after being summoned for questioning by the SBU, the former regional leader and co-founder of the pro-Russian party " He recorded a new video in which he no longer repeated the Kremlin narratives, but called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin a war criminal.
Earlier it was reported that on December 19, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada recalled the pro-Russian people's deputy Yuriy Boyko from the post of member of the Human Rights Committee on the second attempt.
