Dvalishvili won the title in September, defeating Sean O'Malley. This is his 12th victory in a row, and Nurmagomedov suffered his first defeat in the UFC.
" I had an infection in my leg and my lower back was injured. Don't let them break you, the whole world was against me. I was an outsider but I don't care. Believe in yourself, everything is possible,” Dvalishvili said after the fight.
Note that in the main fight of the evening, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev from the Russian Federation defeated Brazilian Renato Moicano by choke in the first round.
Initially, Makhachev’s opponent was supposed to be Armenian Arman Tsarukyan, but the day before the fight he withdrew from the fight due to injury.
