In Ukraine, only 133 MW of the planned gigawatt of distributed electricity generation has been built. This is 13% of the promised volume, said a people's deputy from the political party "
" Even half. That works out to be 13% of that.. In total for 2024 it turns out.... 133 MW,” commented the people’s representative.
He also published the official response of PJSC " The letter states that at the end of 2024, the total installed capacity of distributed gas generation facilities put into operation, including small thermal power plants and cogeneration stations, is 167.51 MW, of which 14 generating units with a total capacity of 32.787 MW were commissioned in 2024. Three gas generation facilities from 20 to 25 MW with a total capacity of 71.4 MW were also put into operation.
The company also noted that the indicated volumes/number of installations do not include information about distributed gas generation, which is connected directly to installations and internal networks of consumers and provides power exclusively to the electrical installations of such consumers - such facilities do not supply electricity to the unified energy system of Ukraine. Mini-power plants, which are used exclusively as backup and emergency power sources, were also not taken into account.. Also, Ukrenergo does not have information about generating capacities built and connected, but not put into operation.
PJSC Ukrenergo has not yet commented on this information..
In June 2024, President Vladimir Zelensky, at the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in Berlin, announced a plan to build up to 1 GW of shunting gas generation capacity by the end of that year. Another 4 GW were planned to be built over the next years.
In September, the former head of the board of NEC Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudrytsky, reported that the project was 6% completed.. At the end of 2024, the Ministry of Energy said that the total capacity of distributed gas generation generating units connected as of December 31 amounted to 967 MW.
Let us recall that on October 15, people's deputy Vladimir Moroz said that the electricity tariff in Ukraine could rise to 6–7 UAH per kilowatt for the population and 11–12 UAH for business. The Ministry of Energy commented on the information on this issue, noting that there is no decision or project to revise tariffs.
