Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On Social and Legal Protection” of military personnel and members of their families provides that if at the time of conscription for military service during a special period declared in accordance with the Law of Ukraine On the Defense of Ukraine, the person worked in a profession or held a position giving the right.

At the same time, the time of military service during a special period, which is counted towards the length of service giving the right to an old-age pension on preferential terms, should not exceed the existing length of service giving the right to a preferential pension.

A period of full-time work in particularly harmful or difficult conditions is confirmed by a certificate of the preferential nature of the work issued by the enterprise.

Also, preferential length of service can be confirmed according to the register of insured persons of the State Register of Compulsory State Social Insurance. The second option applies if the enterprise is located in a temporarily occupied territory or a territory where hostilities are taking place.
