Former champion Mairis Briedis (28-3, 20 KOs) spoke about Alexander Usik’s victory over Tyson Fury in a rematch.

The Latvian boxer said that during training the Briton limited himself.

“I heard from the guys who participated in his sparring that even before the last fight with Usyk, he prepared like this: today 4 rounds, tomorrow - 6. He had very few 12-round workouts overall. He seemed to be taking care of himself.

Unlike him, I know how Alexander works, how much effort he puts in. The guys who were at his sparring sessions said: rounds are 4 minutes long, breaks are only 30 seconds. He worked like a horse, not sparing himself. And this gave the corresponding result. And both of them had the last fight quite easily,” Briedis said on his YouTube channel.

Earlier, Holyfield named Usik’s place in the history of heavyweights.
