The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services supported the purchase of equipment for the completion of the Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

This decision was made at a meeting of the Energy Committee on Thursday.

During the committee meeting, Minister of Energy German Galushchenko emphasized that the development of nuclear energy in the world is now proceeding at a tremendous pace and therefore it is necessary to obtain buildings for the completion of the Khmelnytsky NPP as quickly as possible.

Earlier, People's Deputy Viktor Bondar stated that the completion of two power units of the Khmelnitsky NPP will create thousands of highly qualified jobs and will become a powerful incentive for the economic and social development of the region.
