Archaeologists discovered the settlements during excavations in Kanispani and Asinkran, which were carried out as part of the project " This research, led by Marco Iamoni from the University of Udine, is a joint effort involving the Directorate of Antiquities of Dohuk. Professor Yamoni, an expert in the archeology and art history of ancient West Asia, noted the importance of these finds, in particular for understanding the development of early human societies.

At Canispan, researchers have found evidence of agricultural specialization and early craft production dating back to the 7th millennium BC. Meanwhile, at the Asyncran site, two monumental buildings have been excavated, called the Rectangular Building and the White Building, which are believed to have served as elite residences some 7,000 years ago..

The finds also include some of the oldest known methods of grain processing and pottery production, demonstrating the technological progress of these communities. Scientists want to explore how early egalitarian agricultural societies evolved into stratified communities with specialized labor systems - a model that is thought to have shaped modern societies.

Now the samples have been sent to specialized laboratories for DNA analysis, paleobotanical and ceramic studies. The research is carried out in collaboration with the National Museum of Denmark and the Universities of Padua and Bologna.

The Asingeran site also shows continuous occupation from the Ceramic Neolithic period until the early 3rd millennium BC. In addition to Neolithic structures, it was possible to find traces of residential buildings from the Ottoman Empire era 1500-1800.. , in particular small stone houses and domestic ovens, giving a complete picture of the historical significance of the region.

According to Bekas Brifkani, director of the Department of Antiquities and Heritage of Dohuk Province, these findings mark an important step in reconstructing the history of human development in the region. He noted that Kurdistan plays a key role as the center of early civilization, which makes these discoveries extremely important for understanding the common heritage of humanity.
