The tariff for gas transportation in Ukraine will increase significantly - 2-4 times, to 501.97 UAH per 1,000 cubic meters per day, but this will not affect gas payments for the population. The increase will only affect business consumers, for whom the change will have minimal impact. This was announced by the director of the Center for Energy Research, Alexander Kharchenko, in a comment to the publication " UA"

He emphasized that the increase is due to the cessation of Russian gas transit.

“From now on, we no longer have payments that previously blocked gas transportation from transit. And now we have to pay for the fact that gas is transported within the energy system, inside our gas pipelines,” the expert said.

He also emphasized that depending on the distance over which fuel transit will be reduced, the tariff will increase by 65–84 kopecks per cubic meter. According to him, this will not affect the work of enterprises, since they will practically not feel any changes.

“We are talking about increasing the tariff exclusively for business consumers and by an amount that is completely unnoticeable in the overall price of gas - 14.5-15 thousand. UAH per thousand cubic meters. ... To be honest, I don’t see any reason for any hassle. Even enterprises that consume a lot of gas, such as chemical production, will not feel much difference,” explained Kharchenko.

But for ordinary household users, according to him, nothing will change at all. For them, “the price of gas will remain as it is”.

Let us remind you that on January 3, the media wrote about how prices in gas payments in Ukraine will change from January 1, 2025. They will recalculate the cost of gas transportation, which is affected by the length of the network, the number of subscribers, the condition of networks and equipment, and the size of salaries..

Also on January 3, Focus wrote with reference to the decision of the Odessa District Administrative Court that the retired judge raised his pension to UAH 329 thousand. The court satisfied his request to the Pension Fund of Ukraine to recalculate the payment in accordance with the updated cost of living.
