Russian troops have stepped up offensive operations east of Pokrovsk, aiming to encircle the city from the northeast. This is evidenced by a report by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
“Russian troops have begun to intensify offensive operations east of Pokrovsk, and geolocation video footage published on January 1 indicates that they recently captured Vozdvizhenka (east of Pokrovsk). Video released on January 5 indicates that Russian troops also likely occupied Sviridonovka and Timofeevka (both east of Pokrovsk) in recent days, and also advanced into southeastern Elizavetovka (south of Pokrovsk) during a mechanized attack."
ISW notes that Russian “military correspondents” claim that Russian sabotage and reconnaissance units are stationed north of Timofeevka and along the T-0504 Pokrovsk-Konstantinovka highway.
The Russians also claim that Russian troops have advanced north of Vozdvizhenka in the direction of Baranovka, Vodyanoye Vtoroy and Zelenye Pole. However, ISW does not confirm these claims.
Let us remind you that over the past 24 hours, 140 military clashes were recorded at the front.. In the Pokrovsky direction, defenders stopped 38 assaults. This is the hottest of all our destinations. It has remained like this for the past few weeks..
