In the American town of Bradley, Maine, restorers showed a unique steam engine from the early 20th century, which was used as a kind of all-terrain train. The corresponding video was posted on the popular ViralHog service on Youtube.

The non-profit historical Maine Forest and Logging Museum decided to restore the functionality of this amazing steam engine, which previously served as a tractor instead of horses or a depositor of stone roads in hard-to-reach places. The unusual and original car attracted attention on social networks, where users expressed their interest.

Previously, such machines, as stated in the explanation to the video, weighed up to 20 tons. Restorers add that such “steam locomotives” were the actual predecessors of all currently known types of transport with an internal combustion engine.

In the footage you can see that this “all-terrain vehicle on tracks” is driven by two men in front. At the same time, the third man, who sits in the driver’s seat, gives a characteristic sound signal.

Despite all the external bulkiness, the car moves well on a dirt road and attracts the attention of tourists. Restorers of the museum in Mena conduct such a “ride” several times a year to show a rather rare unique exhibit for everyone who wants to see it.

Users on the Internet rated this “iron monster” quite positively. Some said that the big problem would be the significant consumption of fossil fuels to operate such a machine, while others pointed out that this was the first time they had seen a train that had “gone off the rails and was going down the road.”.

Focus previously wrote about the legendary British Rail Mark 2 carriages. Searchers for unusual finds have found a location with old abandoned carriages, which were extremely popular among railway passengers during the 1970s and 1980s..

It was also reported how a train stopped due to an infestation of squirrels right in the middle of its journey. Unable to cope with the challenges, the train manager decided to send the flight back to Reading to get rid of the pests.
