Dynamo President Igor Surkis, in an interview with the German broadcaster Hamburger Abendblatt, shared his feelings about the opening match of the main round of the Europa League against Lazio.

“Dynamo got into great shape, carried out pre-season training sessions competently and was well on their way to the start of the season. We've had a difficult series of 6 matches in the qualifying group, and the desired result fell short by literally one stroke.

I respect that we did not sacrifice anything to Salzburg and could have passed it, but fortune turned against us. There’s nothing wrong with it, as it seems – it’s football!

We have a young, ambitious coach, a clear footballer, so I, as the president of the club, as his patient, have a single best result - we will defeat Lazio. Our opponent is the domestic champion of Italy, a representative of one of the four strongest club national leagues, so the match will be even more difficult for us. “But I believe in my boys, as does the whole country,” said Surkis.

The match between Dynamo and Lazio will take place on Wednesday, 25th spring, starting at 22:00.
