Previously, Jose Mourinho officially became the new head coach of Fenerbahce, which is why the Turkish club felt a sense of urgency to sign Atletico Madrid's accomplished manager Cesar Azpilicueta.

However, as journalist Fabrizio Romano reports, there were no negotiations between Fenerbahce and the 34-ranked Spaniard regarding a possible transition, regardless of the information in the press.
