Zorya Lugansk was defeated by Slavia Prague in the first match of the playoff round of the Europa League qualification. The match at the Eden Arena in Prague ended with the score 2:0. The Czech club scored the first goal at the end of the meeting. In the 81st minute, Nigerian striker Mohammed Tijani shot into the far corner after a corner kick from Petr Shevchik. In stoppage time for the second half, the Prague team strengthened its advantage - Lukasz Masopust scored after the transfer of Boluvatife Ogungbai. Note that in the first half the ball also went into the net of the Ukrainian club - Masopust's goal in the 27th minute was canceled due to a handball. The second leg of the team will play on Thursday, August 31, in the Polish city of Lublin. It is here that the Luhansk club will nominally play home European Cup matches in the 2023/24 season. The winner of the two-legged duel will advance to the group stage of the Europa League. The losing team will immediately enter the group stage of the third most prestigious European Cup - the Conference League.
