The Ukrainian men's volleyball team won the sixth victory in a row at the group stage of the Golden Euroleague-2023. The team of Ugis Krastins beat North Macedonia on the road - 0:3 (18:25, 24:26, 23:25).
Thus, the Ukrainian team, which had previously advanced to the Final Four of the Golden Euroleague, completed the group round with the maximum score (18 points). The Blue-Yellows have won all six of their six matches, beating North Macedonia, Croatia and Belgium twice each.. Moreover, the Ukrainians managed to set a record. Ugis Krastins' wards won all their fights in three sets. The Ukrainian national team became the first team in the history of the tournament to pass the group stage without losing games at all. Previously, in 19 Euroleague Golden Volleyball tournaments, none of the teams was able to show an absolute result at the group stage and complete it without losing sets. The final four of the Golden Euroleague will be held on June 24-25. In the semi-finals, the Ukrainian team on Saturday, June 24, will play with the hosts of the Final Four - the Croatian team. Note that the Croats went to the semi-finals regardless of the results in the group - in the status of the host of the Final Four. Turkiye will face the Czech Republic in the other semi-final. The final in the match for third place will take place on Sunday, June 25. The Ukrainian men's team for the fourth time in history reached the Final Four of the Golden Euroleague. Our team won this tournament in 2017, won silver in 2021, fourth place in 2022. If they reach the Euroleague Golden final, the Blue-Yellows will also play in the Candidates Cup for a ticket to the Volleyball League of Nations.
