Postponement and exemption from conscription: what changes has the government made

Due to the military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, general mobilization and martial law continue. Men liable for military service are subject to conscription. The government has amended the Regulations on the preparation and conduct of the call of citizens of Ukraine for fixed-term military service and the acceptance of conscripts for military service under the contract.

The document will make it possible to bring certain norms of the Regulation in line with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation governing the issue of granting a deferral or exemption of citizens from conscription for military service. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

The resolution was developed by the Ministry of Defense and adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers.

In particular, the changes provide for:.

determine the grounds for granting a deferment from conscription for military service to a conscript who has a child (children) under 18 years of age and raises him (them) independently;

remove the grounds for granting a deferment from conscription to draftees who have a child or a wife with a disability;

determine the grounds for exemption from conscription for military service of conscripts: who are raising a child with a disability under the age of 18; who are raising a child with a serious illness; who have a wife with a disability; who care for persons with disabilities or those in need of it.

The Ministry of Defense noted that the resolution was adopted in pursuance of the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "

During the mobilization, men from 18 to 60 years old who receive subpoenas are subject to conscription.. Recall whether employees of the housing office can serve a summons to a person liable for military service.
