Spouses or citizens of Ukraine over 21 years of age must submit a written application to the Children's Affairs Service or electronically through the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services and the information systems of the Ministry of Social Policy integrated with it.

The Children's Affairs Service, after receiving the application and all documents, checks their compliance with the requirements of the law. After that, examines the living conditions of the applicants and draws up an appropriate act.

After that, the Children's Service prepares an opinion on the possibility of the applicant or applicants to be adoptive parents. If such a conclusion is positive, the applicant / applicants are registered as candidates for adoptive parents with the entry of data about them in the Register of Candidates for Adoptive Parents and the Unified Data Bank.

The application of the future adopter is valid only for a year, and in the conditions of martial law, not everyone has time to exercise their right to adopt. Recall how to renew the candidacy for adoptive parents.
