Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina made it to the 1/8 finals at the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. In the third round of the competition, the 26-year-old native of Nova Kakhovka beat the 2020 Australian Open triumphant and former world No. 4 American Sophia Kenin. The fight lasted an hour and 37 minutes.. Kalinina dealt with the representative of the United States in two sets - 6:4, 6:2. In the 1/8 finals Angelina will meet the winner of the match between Belarusian Victoria Azarenka and American Madison Keys. The game with the Ukrainian will take place on May 15. We add that Kalinina missed the first round of the competition in Rome, and in the second round she defeated Russian Anna Blinkova. Two more Ukrainians also continue to fight in this tournament - Marta Kostyuk and Lesya Tsurenko. In the 1/16 finals, Kostyuk will play against the Spaniard Paula Badosa, and Tsurenko will meet with the first racket of the world, the Polish Iga Sventek.
