Indexation of pensions has taken place in Ukraine since March 1. The size of the minimum pension payments to persons with disabilities from among the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant has also increased.. The Pension Fund of Ukraine told what amount of pension is set for disabled Chernobyl victims.

How much pension do Chernobyl disabled people receive?.

In Ukraine, in accordance with the law “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens Affected by the Chernobyl Disaster” on increasing the level of pension provision for certain categories of persons”, it is determined that people with disabilities for whom a causal relationship has been established.

for persons with disabilities of the 1st group - 100% of the average salary (income) in Ukraine, from which insurance premiums are paid and is taken into account for calculating the pension for the previous year;

for persons with disabilities of the 2nd group - 80%;

for persons with disabilities of the 3rd group - 60%.

If the monthly pensions of a certain category of persons with disabilities (taking into account allowances, increases, additional pensions, targeted benefits, indexation amounts and other additional payments and compensations to pensions established by law, except for pensions for special services to Ukraine) do not reach such amounts, such persons.

Has the pension of disabled Chernobyl victims increased since March 1.

The minimum pension payment increases from March 1, based on the average salary (income) in Ukraine, from which insurance premiums are paid and taken into account for calculating pensions, for the year preceding the year of recalculation of monthly assistance to pension.

From March 1, 2023, the corresponding recalculation was made based on the average salary (income) in Ukraine, from which insurance premiums were paid and which is taken into account for calculating pensions, for 2022 - UAH 13,376.21.

So, from March 1, the minimum pension for persons with disabilities from among the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, in respect of which a causal relationship of disability with the Chernobyl disaster has been established, cannot be lower:.

for persons with disabilities of the 1st group - UAH 13,376.21 (up to 01. 03. 2023 – UAH 12,993.56);

for persons with disabilities of the 2nd group - UAH 10,700.97 (up to 01. 03. 2023 – UAH 10,394.85);

for persons with disabilities of the 3rd group - UAH 8025.73 (up to 01. 03. 2023 - 7796.14 UAH).

Such amounts of minimum pension payments are established regardless of the law under which a person is granted a pension..
