Brazil nuts entered retail trade in Ukraine, in which they found an excess of the maximum available level of aflatoxins. Nuts were imported from Brazil. This was reported by the press service of the main department of the State Food and Consumer Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region on its own page on the social network Facebook.
The department noted that Brazil nuts came to Ukraine through the following chain:.

Trader from the Netherlands - ROTTERDAM CUSTOMS SERVICES BV, Netherlands.
The recipient in Ukraine is CRYOLIT-D LLC (str.. Okeanskaya, 4, g. Dnieper).

Possibly a toxic product could have ended up on store shelves. At the same time, the State Food and Consumer Service warned market operators that handle nuts of the need to withdraw hazardous products..
“The State Food and Consumer Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region warns market operators that circulate the aforementioned products of the need to withdraw them from circulation and notify the General Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region in writing about the identified discrepancy within no more than two working days, which is provided for by part 3 of Article 20.
Consumers, in case of detection of these products, were urged to report this to the Main Directorate of the State Food and Consumer Service in the Ivano-Frankivsk region by phone: (0342) 511389, 511392 or contact the territorial departments.
