Ukrainian ex-world boxing champion received a new opponent the day before the fight

Former world light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (17-1, 14 KOs) got a new opponent the day before the fight.

Initially, the Argentinean Jorge Miranda (58-21, 22 KOs) was supposed to be the rival of the Ukrainian, but today, February 10, the boxing portal BoxRec reported that Gvozdyk would fight with the Mexican Josue Obando (20-34-2, 15 KOs).

The fight will take place on February 11 in Pomona, USA, as part of the TM Boxing show and MarvNation Promotions.

Alexander Gvozdyk is the bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympics in London, and in 2018, thanks to the victory over Adonis Stevenson, the Ukrainian became the WBC world champion.

Gvozdik had his last fight in October 2019 against Russian Artur Beterbiev and lost by TKO in the tenth round.. It was the first defeat in the career of a Ukrainian with 17 wins (14 by knockout). In June 2020, Gvozdyk announced his retirement.
