The famous French director, screenwriter and actor Michel Hazanavicius, who joined the global campaign to raise funds for the restoration of Ukraine and became the ambassador of the United24 platform, spoke about his visit to Ukraine and his impressions of communicating with President Volodymyr Zelensky.
In particular, the other day the celebrity arrived in the capital. According to the TSN story, Khazanavicius visited Bucha and Irpen, which were under occupation last spring. The director saw with his own eyes what the Russian occupiers left behind, and also talked with the locals who resisted Russian aggression.
" Not all of them are professional soldiers, but they left their peaceful life and went to defend their land.. Despite the horrors they have experienced, they have a great sense of humor and humanity,"
Khazanavicius also met with Volodymyr Zelensky. The celebrity did not come to the meeting with the president empty-handed. The director gave Zelensky a statuette of the outstanding British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. In particular, Chazanavicius is convinced that the significance of these figures for history is commensurate.
" And given the amount of work, the number of decisions he has to make every day, that's impressive.. And he also has a great sense of humor, it is easy to find a common language with him,"
Recall that in January of this year, Michel Hazanavicius organized a charity auction, the purpose of which was to raise funds to help Ukraine. Among the lots were the things of world famous celebrities. Thanks to the auction, 250,000 euros were raised. Michel transferred half of the funds raised to the United24 platform, and the rest to the restoration of a hospital in Izyum, Kharkiv region.
