President of the European Council Charles Michel commented on the words of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal that Ukraine can join the EU within two years. During an interview with "

" If the political will to speed up is strong on the Ukrainian side, if there is the confidence that I feel in order to implement the necessary reforms, it is possible to speed up, - says Michel. - When we decided to give Ukraine the EU candidacy, I remember that a few weeks before we made this decision, someone hesitated, someone was pessimistic, but we succeeded, you were able to finally quickly get the status of a candidate.

The President of the European Council noted that now the EU and Ukraine should focus on the necessary efforts on both sides.

" Point two is waiting for the start of negotiations, which is an important step. It is also important to use existing tools. For example, I would like us to speed up the joint roaming process in order to connect Ukraine with the EU. I would like us to accelerate efforts to gradually integrate Ukraine into the single market. I want us to make more efforts to connect the infrastructure based on the principle: " And the Ukrainian authorities know that they have many friends in the EU who sincerely want to help you speed up this process,"
