A petition calling on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to resume declaring the status of officials and deputies was registered on the website of the head of state. Its author is a politician and now a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Hrytsenko.

According to the text of petition No. 22/177712-ep, despite the war of officials, there are those who allow themselves to engage in corruption. However, one of the prerequisites for its identification and bringing the perpetrators to justice is the resumption of the electronic declaration of public servants..

“At one time, the introduction of electronic declaration of public servants was one of the biggest successes of anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine. Thanks to this, anti-corruption authorities and the public were able to identify dozens of employees with illegally acquired wealth,” the author of the petition notes..

He notes that officials and officials exempted from the obligation to submit declarations from March 2022 are unreasonable, since for most of them there are no objective obstacles to submitting declarations: they are not on the front line, protecting the state, and have the opportunity to fill in information about their income.

“By restoring the declaration, the authorities will demonstrate their intolerance to manifestations of corruption during martial law. All those who, in their positions during the war, allow themselves to steal state funds, and not work for the victory of the state, must be discovered and held accountable.. The submitted declarations of employees will help in this,” Gritsenko emphasizes..

The petition was registered on January 30, 2023. Over the first day, more than 5,600 people out of the required 25,000 signed it..

Recall that permission not to declare property was granted to civil servants and politicians in early 2022 in connection with the full-scale Russian invasion.. Thus, officials did not file declarations for 2021. At the same time, political parties have not declared their income and expenses since 2020..

In particular, recently a scandal erupted around the deputy chairman of the Servant of the People faction Pavel Khalimon, who during the war acquired a luxurious estate in Kyiv at a probably underpriced price..

At the same time, the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the European Union, at a meeting with the head of the NACP, Alexander Novikov, stated the need to intensify the fight against corruption.
