The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets said that international organizations did not make efforts to properly investigate the tragedy in Olenivka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war died.
“After all, initially the Secretary General organized a separate mission to Olenovka. However, no efforts were made to meet with the Ukrainian side in order to take developments and documents on the terrorist attack.. And after 5 months, the UN mission was disbanded without any criticism of Russia, which during all this time did not provide access to either the representatives of the mission or the Ukrainian side and actually disrupted the investigation,” he said..
According to Lubinets, six months have already passed since the terrorist attack, Ukraine will continue to investigate the incident and it will become another article for the special tribunal on Russian crimes in Ukraine.
“Today is six months since the Russians committed a terrible terrorist attack in Olenovka. Our soldiers died, Ukrainian prisoners of war. 5 months is a long time to cover up the traces of a crime, but it is a short time to forget about it. The families and friends of the victims will never forget this.. And Ukraine will never forget this,” the Ombudsman said..
