In Ukraine, since January 1, the size of the subsistence minimum has changed, and hence the amount of collection for mandatory state pension insurance during the first registration of a passenger car. Now the living wage is 2684 UAH. The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told what the size of the pension fee depends on and how much car owners need to pay when registering a car for the first time.

According to paragraph 7 of Article 1 of the law “On the fee for compulsory state pension insurance”, upon the first state registration of a passenger car in Ukraine, individuals must pay a fee for compulsory state pension insurance.

According to paragraph 8 of article 4 of the said law, its amount is established as follows:.

3% - if the cost of a car does not exceed 165 living wages for able-bodied persons;

4% - if the cost of a car exceeds 165, but does not exceed 290 living wages for able-bodied persons;

5% - if the object of taxation exceeds 290 living wages for able-bodied persons.

The object of taxation is the cost of the car, determined in accordance with the contract of sale, exchange agreement, certificate of the customs authorities, an act of expert assessment of the cost of the car, other documents confirming this value..

So, from January 1 this year, Ukrainians for the first time registering a car on the territory of Ukraine, regardless of whether it is a new car or a used car, must pay a certain fee for mandatory state pension insurance according to such calculations, depending on the cost of a car, excluding value added tax.
