The main criterion for choosing a news source for consumers is the confirmation of information by facts - 54% and the reliability of the source - 40%. The reputation of the source of information is also important - 30% and the one reporting it (journalist or expert) - 22%. In addition, respondents are interested in a neutral and propaganda-free presentation of news (19% and 22% respectively).
At the same time, Ukrainians most of all trust the information provided by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky. Thus, 90% of the study participants trust the official reports of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and 86% equally trust the information received from relatives who remained in Ukraine, and the messages of the president or other representatives of the political leadership of the state - the Office of the President, the Government, the Verkhovna Rada, etc.. (85%). The study “Media consumption and social activity of Ukrainians who have found temporary asylum in Poland” was conducted on the basis of analytical developments and commissioned by the NGO “Civil Network “OPORA” with the support of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).
