The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine will transfer 35 powerful generators - up to 1 MW - to bread producers and dairies located in the de-occupied territories, said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solsky.

“There are a lot of appeals, much more than necessary. 35 large ones - hundreds of kilowatts up to 1 MW - are transferred to bakeries, dairy plants in the de-occupied territories,"

Uninterrupted power supply is necessary for bakeries due to the nature of the technological cycle, which requires six hours or more, as well as a short power outage leads to a shortage of the entire batch.

According to Solsky, other agribusiness enterprises that need help in solving the issue of independent energy supply will receive financial support.. “The rest in this direction will receive up to 5 million hryvnias in money,” the minister noted.. “First of all, elevators are the first place where we bring grain,” Solsky said..

Recall that the World Bank allocated $ 50 million. for the energy supply program for elevators in Ukraine in 2023. “First, we will turn on the elevators, and only then we will add some more enterprises,” Solsky said..

Companies that purchased generators at the end of 2022 can also count on participation in the program.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba announced that as of January 4, it was possible to agree on the supply of almost 1,800 current and voltage transformers of various capacities, more than seven thousand generators with a capacity of up to 100 kilowatts and more than 600 generators of more than 100 kilowatts, more than 40 kilometers of cable, as well as.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is compiling a list of enterprises in the agricultural sector and the food industry as critical infrastructure facilities that are important for food security. Such enterprises will have additional tools to guarantee the receipt of electricity.

At the beginning of December 2022, the government gave priority to the enterprises of the bakery and dairy industries in power supply, classifying them as a business that produces products that are critical for the population.

According to the All-Ukrainian Association of Bakers, most of the country's bakeries receive full electricity due to direct agreements with the military-civilian administrations, however, power outages in related industries prevent the formation of stocks of raw materials for baking bread..

Enterprises related to bread baking do not receive full electricity due to planned and emergency power outages, so bakeries cannot form stocks of flour, butter or sugar for several days.
