Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko and Vladislav Atroshenko, who was removed from his duties as Mayor of Chernihiv by a court decision for an administrative offense, recorded a joint appeal calling on the initiators of political pressure on Atroshenko to stop this practice and not violate democratic principles, especially during the war.

In particular, Klitschko stressed that the situation that has developed around Chernihiv Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko looks like selective justice and has signs of political pressure..

“Removal from office of the mayor of the city through the court, for an administrative violation is a precedent! For the first time in the history of independent Ukraine. The mayor, who was with the community when the city was under siege, is now working to rebuild the city. He was elected by the community to defend the interests of the people, and only the community can decide who it trusts,” Klitschko stressed..

He noted that local self-government is the basis of democracy and it is unacceptable to destroy democratic principles even during a war.. Especially in a situation where you need to work together against an external enemy.

In turn, Vladislav Atroshenko said that he was filing an appeal against the decision of the Yavorovsky District Court to remove him from his duties as mayor of Chernigov, stressed that in this situation he was fighting not for himself and his position, but for Chernigov and Chernigov residents, who they want to deprive of the right to vote.

“I appeal to colleagues of community leaders - if we turn a blind eye to this lawlessness today, tomorrow such a fate will await any mayor or head of the UTC. I want to say a simple thing to the initiators of this removal - it is enough to look for enemies and engage in political war during a bloody struggle with an external enemy. Local and central authorities should fight not against each other, but together for Ukraine,” he added..

Recall, on December 7, the Yavorivsky District Court deprived the mayor of Chernihiv, Vladislav Atroshenko, for a year of the right to hold an active position.. According to the prosecution, Atroshenko committed an administrative offense and violated the requirements for the prevention and settlement of conflicts of interest.. The mayor of Chernihiv accused the president's office of putting pressure on the court.

In September, the NAPC drew up two protocols regarding the mayor of Chernihiv, Vladislav Atroshenko, although it was not about corruption. In particular, in August of this year, Atroshenko instructed his driver to take his wife's Tesla Model X car abroad, despite the fact that he should provide transport services only for the official himself and solely for the performance of his official duties..

Earlier, the mayor of Chernihiv, Vladislav Atroshenko, said that political pressure had been exerted on him for more than a year - “dozens of criminal proceedings have been opened in which heads of departments and contractors are literally terrorized”.

What's happening? What is the basis of the conflict between the mayor of Chernihiv and the president's team? Read about this and other things in an interview with Chernihiv Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko “The conflict between the president’s office and me harms not me, but the people of Chernigov”.
