Ukraine plans to implement the recommendations of the European Commission by the end of 2022, and next year to move on to negotiations on membership in the European Union. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal stated this while speaking in the French Parliament. Quoted by his government portal.
“You know that Ukraine has received the status of a candidate for joining the European Union – this is our signpost and incentive to deepen cooperation,” said Denys Shmyhal. – The openness of the EU to further steps significantly mobilizes our internal political resources for the complete transformation of the country in all areas – from judicial to environmental. By the end of this year, we plan to implement the recommendations of the European Commission, and next year we expect to start negotiations on expansion.”.
He noted that the Cabinet of Ministers has developed a roadmap for each item of the recommendations of the European Commission. Some of them have already been completed, some are being worked on and will soon be completed..
“We have the political will and readiness of all state bodies to work together on the rapid and high-quality implementation of the recommendations. In parallel with this process, we must prepare the state for the negotiation process and structural reforms,” said the head of the Ukrainian government.
