So, the 38-year-old player remembered how he felt on February 24, when Russia attacked Ukraine, as well as about relations with the inhabitants of the occupying country.

Pyatov spoke about this in an interview with SportoweFakty.

" The sirens woke us up around 5 am.. We turned on Telegram, there was a lot of discussion and I saw: The war has begun. At first we were confused. Then we woke up the kids and quickly got ready to leave.. We did not have time to leave the city, because the traffic jam stretched for several kilometers. Friends had a house with shelter. We went to them and settled down there.

What I felt doesn't matter. On that day, we were also with my wife's friends, who also had children, so in total we had ten children, and there were also pregnant women. For a long time we could not leave Kyiv, but then we went to the west of Ukraine. What hurts me the most is that the kids see it all. They already understand what war is - why tanks drive and rockets fly. It's part of their childhood.

This sparring (about a charity match with the Greek " ) we spent somewhere in early April, a month and a half after the invasion. There was a separate sector in the stands. The organizers placed one toy on each of the 176 chairs. One talisman answered one killed child. The boys were crying on the field. The death of a child is the worst thing in the world for me.. Because of these atrocities, the heart bleeds, anger and hatred grows..

In the early days, I was under the influence of a very strong adrenaline rush.. When I was taking my family to the west of Ukraine, I called a friend from Kyiv, I wanted to return. At the beginning of the war, many men fled, but our " I also wanted to join the army, but my friend told me to help socially, because I can use my confession, for example, by participating in charity matches. The money that we collected together with Shakhtar, we donated to the army.

Once upon a time there was the USSR, one big country that collapsed because everyone fought for something and looked at their own interests. Now there is a wall between Ukrainians and Russians. We won't ever be able to call them " We don't have support from them. I know that there are people like in Ukraine, but they are being manipulated. Unfortunately - those who remained there support the war. Our life will now look like in Israel, in a state of constant war, but we will continue to live and develop. We know we'll live in danger for a long time to come. Ukraine is used to it,"
