Representatives of Finland and Sweden will take part for the first time in the meeting of the NATO Military Committee, which will be held in Tallinn on September 16-18. This was reported by the press service of the Alliance.

Chiefs of the General Staffs of the Allied countries will gather in the capital of Estonia. They will discuss the implementation of the decisions taken at the Madrid summit, as well as the NATO missions in Iraq (NMI) and Kosovo (KFOR). The conference will be organized by Lieutenant General Martin Gorem, Commander-in-Chief of the Estonian Defense Forces.

Recall that Sweden and Finland announced their intention to join NATO in May, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine led to a change in attitude towards joining the bloc.
