History of National Flag Day.

The holiday was established by the decree of the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma in 2004.. The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance.. It was on August 23, 1991 that a group of deputies brought the national flag of Ukraine into the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada for the first time.. Now it is stored in the Museum of the Verkhovna Rada.
