In the final, the Ukrainian-Latvian duet defeated American Nicole Melihar-Martinez and Australian Ellen Perez.

The match lasted 1 hour 24 minutes. Kichenok and Ostapenko defeated their rivals in two sets - 7:6 (5), 6:3. We add that before that, the Ukrainian-Latvian couple won two matches a day. In the quarter-finals, Kichenok and Ostapenko removed the representative of Kazakhstan Anna Danilina and Beatrice Haddad Maia from Brazil from their path, and in the semi-finals they defeated the Belgian Elise Mertens and the Russian Veronika Kudermetova, who, due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, acts in a neutral status.

The victory in Cincinnati is the second joint triumph of Kichenok and Ostapenko in their careers. In June, they won the doubles tournament in Birmingham, after which they reached the final of the tournament in Eastbourne, but withdrew from the decisive match due to an injury to the Latvian tennis player.

Previously reported scandalous incident in Cincinnati. During the qualification match of the tournament, a fan with the Ukrainian flag was forced to leave the stands. It happened at the match between Russians Anna Kalinskaya and Anastasia Potapova.
