The director of the Shevchenko National Reserve, Valentina Kovalenko, spoke on the air of the national telethon about the state of the grave of Kobzar and how it can be protected from missile strikes.

According to her, due to subsidence of the soil, the grave is in a threatening state, which is why it cannot be overlaid with sandbags, so as not to aggravate the problem..

Kovalenko reported that during a hasty reconstruction in 2010, the mountain was not properly reinforced and began to subside..

" We don't know what condition the crypt is in,"

The museum management turned to all authorities for help, submitted grant applications to international funds in order to protect Shevchenko's grave.

The grave of Taras Shevchenko is an integral part of the Shevchenko National Reserve in Kanev, Cherkasy region. The monument, 17 meters high, was erected in the summer of 1939.
