World number one Iga Sventek Iga became the first female tennis player in three years to win more than 50 matches in a single season.

It happened during the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati. Sventek defeated American Sloane Stevens in two sets - 6:4, 7:5.

The last time this was possible was the former first racket of the world Ashleigh Barty in 2019.

For reaching the quarterfinals, the Polish athlete who competed in Cincinnati will play with the American Madison Keys.

This season, the polka has already won 6 tournaments, including Roland Garros. Sventek is currently competing in the WTA 1000 elite category in Cincinnati.
