Ukraine is increasing coal production to ensure the domestic electricity market and exports, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, head of the board of NPC Ukrenergo, said at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

According to him, there are three elements that require preparation and financing: scheduled repairs of power plants, power grids and the purchase of the necessary volumes of fuel.

“To date, the export income that we had with a minimum volume of 100 megawatts for the first month brought more than 700 million hryvnias of income as an energy system operator. These are the funds that Ukrenergo can send to market participants so that all power plants can finance preparations for winter,” he explained..

Due to the occupation of part of Donbass in 2014, Ukraine lost access to all of its anthracite mines. I had to import from Russia and other countries through seaports that are blocked. Now Ukrainian combined heat and power plants (CHP), which use anthracite, are planning, if possible, to be converted to burning coal of the gas group.

Moscow makes no secret of the fact that the goal of the Russian-European war (so far cold) is to inflict enough pain on the enemy, hit the pockets of Euroburghers, cause political crises in a number of countries with the fall of governments, in order to force the EU to change its policy. In this case, to force Europe to abandon support for Ukraine and resume relations with the Russian Federation. How Europe deserves to pass the test of gas, show solidarity with Ukraine and adhere to European values, read the article by Mikhail Gonchar and Igor Stukalenko “Russian Gas War: How Ukraine and the EU Can Survive the Winter”.
