The UN found a way to help Ukraine with the storage of grain

The UN structure - the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), - in the coming days will announce a tender for the purchase of equipment for grain storage in Ukraine. This equipment will be available to farmers from 20 regions of Ukraine, FAO representative Victoria Mikhalchuk said, Ukrinform reports..

Additional storage capacity will cover 25% of the nationwide demand.

According to Mikhalchuk, as a result of Russian aggression, 14% of Ukrainian granaries are damaged or destroyed, 10% are located in the territories occupied by Russia. Of the available storage facilities, 35% are filled with last year's crops and oilseeds, which are awaiting export.

The cost of the FAO project, aimed at helping Ukrainian farmers to maintain the expected harvest in July-August and ensure the export of key agricultural commodities to international markets, is estimated at $17 million.

Earlier it was reported that 17 vessels have already been loaded in the ports of Odessa and Chornomorsk, of which 10 are ready for shipment.
