The Russian army during July 25-26 was able to achieve significant success northeast of Bakhmut. In particular, the occupiers probably managed to take Berestovoe under control, according to a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Control over the settlement is confirmed by geolocation video, in which a Russian soldier freely walks along a badly damaged section of the T1302 highway Bakhmut-Lysichansk in Berestovoye (25 km northeast of Bakhmut).
The Russian occupiers almost razed the village to the ground with artillery, the Ukrainian military probably managed to carry out a controlled retreat.
Analysts believe that the Russians will try to take advantage of the occupied position in order to develop an offensive to the southwest, along the highway in the direction of Soledar, and will try to storm Bakhmut from the direction from Berestovoye-Soledar.
The invaders are also fighting near Soledar and Bakhmut. They probably managed to take control of the territory of the Uglegorsk TPP. ISW assessed on July 25 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a controlled retreat from the power plant in Semigorye.
Russian troops are likely to continue their attempts to move north from the thermal power plant in the direction of Bakhmut.
Carefully! The video contains profanity.
#Berestovoe, Donetsk region. , enemy in the village: Donetsk and Russians took him for a month and a half, we arrived and took him in 10 days, even less. We had a lot of 300, we also had a lot of 200. There is nothing residential here, even mines stick out in the basements. Fucking this village https://t. co/uLP8BzMvw4 #roa pic. twitter. com/QJpeyY3h7b.

The Russian military, trying to advance in the Donetsk region, is unlikely to be able to capture such large cities as Kramatorsk and Slovyansk, says George Varos, an analyst at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts expect that the Kramatorsk-Bakhmut line, primarily on the E40 highway, where there are prepared Ukrainian defense positions, will slow down Russia's pace, and the occupiers will stop at that line.
