Despite the fall in the official hryvnia exchange rate, an increase in fuel prices should not be expected, and in some regions one can even hope for their decline. This was shown by a survey of market participants, writes "

On the one hand, experts said they were shocked.

So, according to the director of the PRIME group of companies Dmitry Leushkin, the news about the rise in the dollar was a real shock for the market..

" ) the wholesale market came out with old prices, and after the regulator’s decision was made public, everyone set new prices,” he says.

According to the director of the consulting group A-95 Sergiy Kuyun, the cost of purchasing fuel for importers immediately increased by UAH 10 per liter. After the decision of the NBU, wholesale prices increased by about the same amount.. True, by the evening they rolled back a little: the growth amounted to 8 UAH per liter.

Some operators promise to raise prices for gasoline to UAH 59/liter, for diesel fuel - up to UAH 62/liter.

However, after the first shock, more optimistic forecasts emerged..

Firstly, traders have lately included a high profit margin in the cost of fuel..

Secondly, world prices for oil and oil products are declining..

Regarding the margin, certain networks during the war earned super profits, which in some cases could reach from 10 UAH per liter to 20 UAH per liter.

" Saturation of the market led to the expected result: intense competition and falling prices,” Kuyun says..

Fuel market expert Gennady Ryabtsev also says that the cost of oil products in Ukraine was greatly inflated due to military risks..

"

In the future, everyone expected that due to the reduction in the margin, fuel prices would decrease by UAH 5-8 per liter over the next two weeks.. Now, this potential will simply be blocked by the exchange rate jump, and prices for consumers will not change..

In particular, according to Kuyun, the current prices at gas stations may not change.. The cost of liquefied gas is able to stabilize at the level of UAH 30 per liter, diesel fuel - UAH 55-57 per liter, gasoline - UAH 52 per liter.

And Ryabtsev believes that in the west of Ukraine, fuel prices should even decrease.

"

Recall that on July 21, the National Bank raised the official exchange rate of the American currency against the Ukrainian one to UAH 36.6 per dollar.. Thus, the hryvnia devalued by 25%.

This decision means that importers will buy foreign currency more expensive, and the difference will be included in the final cost of goods.. Representatives of the NBU warned that this would lead to an increase in prices, in particular, for oil products.
