Filming took place in 2020. The creative team enlisted the support of the National Guard of Ukraine, which comprehensively contributed to filming: provided permits for filming in specially designated locations and equipment, attracted personnel to create realistic shots. In addition, the shooting was accompanied by a military consultant - a sniping instructor.. Six months before the start of filming, the lead actor, actor Pavel Aldoshin, underwent special military training, and now the acquired skills help him defend his homeland in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

August 24 is a symbolic date for every Ukrainian. It was decided to coincide with the release of the film on Independence Day, because we are all fighting for our Independence and the Independence of future generations of Ukrainians.

“Since 2014, I have been looking for a military story about a volunteer who came to the defense of Ukraine in the fight against Russian invaders.. Over the years, the war in the Donbass turned into a sniper one - after all, it was the snipers who inflicted the greatest losses on both sides, and thereby changed the course of the battle. I started researching sniping and looking for true stories about our fighters, and eventually came across the story of Nikolai Voronin, an eco-settler from Gorlovka, in the Donetsk region, who became a sniper. At first, I suggested to Nikolai that we make a film based on his story: we met many times, he read the script, added comments, but later I decided to abandon the biography film and make a genre film. So, in the scenario, events gradually appeared that did not exist in reality, but which could exist in the realities of the war in Donbass. This is how work began on a new story, a new stage in writing a genre script, ”said Maryan Bushan, co-author of the script and director of the film..
