On the island of Zmeinoye, de-occupied from Russian invaders, Ukrainian special forces conducted research and reconnaissance of the territory and underground fortifications of the island, as well as engineering work on demining.

According to the GUR, samples of enemy weapons and equipment, such as guidance and control systems, Orlan-10 UAVs, MANPADS systems, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, small arms, combat logs, personal documents of the military of the Russian Federation, electronic media.

A Ukrainian banner was installed on the island instead of the Russian “tricolor”.

Recall that on June 30, the Armed Forces of Ukraine knocked out the occupiers from the Serpentine. Later, the defenders said that they destroyed a lot of Russian equipment on the island.

As explained in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the de-occupation of the island is important primarily for residents of nearby regions, in particular the Odessa region. Thanks to this, the threat of landing troops has decreased, and the invaders will not be able to place coastal SCRCs to increase the effectiveness of the use of these missiles on the territory of Ukraine, in order to reduce the reaction of our air defense to them.
