The mayor of Nova Kakhovka Vladimir Kovalenko and his first deputy Oleg Tarabaka left the city captured by the Russians and went to Zaporozhye.
In a commentary to Suspilne Kherson, the official explained the decision made by the pressure of the occupiers, who do not allow normal work. Kovalenko and Tarabaka will continue to perform their duties remotely.
“From the beginning of the war, on February 24, for almost five months we continued to fulfill our duties. Today it becomes impossible to work, due to the constant pressure of the military of the Russian Federation. Therefore, we are forced to go to the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will work remotely,” he added..
