Verkhovna Rada Appoints Oksana Zholnovich as New Minister of Social Policy

The Verkhovna Rada appointed Oksana Zholnovich to the post of Minister of Social Policy. 282 people's deputies voted for the relevant decision, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak noted in Telegram.

Oksana Zholnovich since 2020 has been the head of the department of social policy and health of the OP. From 2019 to 2021 she was an adviser to the Minister of Social Policy. Worked in the field of protection of persons with disabilities.

The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on Monday, July 18, dismissed Marina Lazebna from the post of Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine.

She headed the ministry in March 2020, becoming part of Denys Shmyhal's team after the resignation of the government of Oleksiy Honcharuk. As Zheleznyav noted, only 27. 2% or 6 out of 22 ministers from the initial composition of the 2020 Government.

Prior to that, since August 2019, Lazebnaya led the State Social Service. Previously worked at the Ministry of Social Policy (Department of Labor and Employment), led the State Employment Service until its liquidation in 2014.
