The new government coalition of Estonia promised to provide comprehensive support to Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees. ERR reports..

Leaders of the Reform Party, the Isamaa Party and the Social Democratic Party of Estonia signed a coalition agreement. The plans of the new coalition for the next 8 months symbolically fit on eight pages of the agreement.

“The basis of our foreign policy is the conviction that Estonia must be fully protected in a situation where our neighboring country, the Russian Federation, behaves like an aggressor and violates all international norms,” the agreement says..

The coalition also considers it a priority to develop Estonia's defense capabilities as quickly as possible in cooperation with the allies..

“Estonia supports the economic isolation of the Russian Federation at the EU level, including a complete ban on the transport of Russian goods by road, rail and sea. We will support Ukraine at all international levels, including Ukraine's efforts in NATO and the EU,” the new agreement says..

In order to help Ukrainian refugees, the country will support local self-government and try to ensure that Estonian language learning and education for Ukrainian children is accessible in Estonian schools..

“We will support the creation of an international court to hold the Russian Federation accountable for war crimes,” the agreement says..

The coalition agreement, among other things, also provides for the transition to renewable energy and the reform of the electricity market.
