U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie Jenkins is confident that the American weapons provided to Ukraine will not end up in the wrong hands, Voice of America reports, citing the official’s speech during a briefing on July 12.

Jenkins said the US is constantly assessing the risks of a possible transfer of US military technology anywhere in the world..

At the same time, she added that the United States is confident in our government's commitment to properly protect and account for American-made military equipment..

“Without going into too much detail, the United States is actively engaging with the government of Ukraine to ensure that military equipment and security assistance is held accountable,” she said..

Bonnie Jenkins also said that, given the difficult situation on the frontline in Ukraine, the United States is also considering options for providing us with additional military equipment for protection..

“The purpose of the assistance is for Russia to stop the war it is waging in Ukraine,” said the Deputy Secretary of State.

US President Joe Biden's administration is about to send Ukraine its 15th security aid package, bringing the total amount of US military and humanitarian aid to over $7 billion since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Americans support the idea of \u200b\u200bhelping Ukraine, even though it will have to be “paid” for by rising inflation and high energy prices.
